TO NEW AFFILIATES
Re:Combined Liability / Personal Accident Insurance Cover and bayc
Thank you for your interest regarding affiliation to bayc. In order to access the bayc youth work insurance package, all groups must be affiliated to bayc.
Affiliation papers are available to download from this website and we would be grateful if you could complete and return these, together with your cheque for the appropriate affiliation fee, made payable to bayc, as soon as possible.
Public Liability / Employers Liability Insurance.
There is a special youth clubs insurance scheme in place with Ace European Group Ltd which is administered by BJK Insurance Brokers.
Access to this scheme can only be achieved by affiliated groups. An insurance declaration form is enclosed for your completion and we would be grateful if you could confirm whether or not you require Public Liability/Employers Liability Insurance through BJK or whether you have this insurance elsewhere.If the latter, please ensure that details of the cover you already have in place are entered on the declaration before you return it to us - we require this information for our records.
Groups attempting to access the scheme through BJK without current affiliation will be referred to bayc in order that affiliation can be effected. BJK Insurance Brokers can be contacted between the hours of 10-12 am and 2-4 pm only, Monday to Friday. The contact number is 01271 349097 and the person administering the Youth Clubs Scheme is Ms Chris Fallows. We offer 2 categories of affiliation, tailored to the group's niche within the youth work scene and theseare borne out of the strategic thinking for the future development of bayc.
No Frills Package.
All of the benifits below with the exception of the CRB discount scheme.
Standard Package

This package gives groups 1 year's affiliation

(1st April to 31st March) and includes all of our basic core services:

Physical/practical support to affiliated groups e.g. policies, training and general youth work issues.

CRB support/training, inclusive of up to 5 FREE CRB checks for volunteers plus further discounts on all other CRB applications in any one year.

Subsidised activities and amenities e.g. the Studio Barn residential centre.

Access to Free association led training vouchers.

Local service providers and insurance policies.

Access to support from bayc's pool of trained youth workers.

Access to projects negotiated/instigated by bayc.

A monthly mailing of information via email or web downloads.

Access to bayc's training/conference suite( 1 session free)

In addition to our core package, bayc is keen to work in partnership with groups/organisation on specifically commissioned projects or events e.g. Youth Achievement Awards, Training, Connexions, Quality Standards, Youth Arts and Specific Gender Work.

Associate Membership

This package is designed for groups or organisations who do not have young people as members but nevertheless are interested in the work of bayc and wish to stay informed of our youth provision. It includes a monthly mailing of information via email or web download. In addition Associates will have access to reduced rates for C.R.B. checks. A saving of £5 per check off bayc's Non-Affiliated Groups/Organisations tarrif.

The Fees

Are based on overall group income.

The No Frills Package rates are: £40

The Standard Package rates are:

Minimum fee (total income 0£ up to 10 k) £65

OR (11k - 20k income) £85

OR (21k - 50k income) £95

OR (51k - 100k income) £115

OR (100k + income) £125

New groups affiliating after November in any year will receive a percentage discount on these advertised fees.

Associate Membership costs £50 per annum

To affiliate, you need to complete both the affiliation form and the remittance/advice form. The Insurance Declaration only needs to be completed if your group has its own insurance cover.

  • PAINTBALL OFFER

    Are you into paintball? bayc has negotiated a number of Charity Participation passes for Delta Force Paintball Centres.
    The charity passes normally sell at £59.99 with each pass entitling 10 (yes TEN) people to participate in a full day of paintball action at any one of the 35 paintball centres nationwide. The normal price for 10 people is £99.99 so the Pass saves you £49.99
    Included in the deal is a full day pf paintball action, all equipment hire, latest semi-automatic machine gun, public liability insurance. Paintballs are not included and must be purchased separately.

  • £10,000 available for young people aged 16-25 in 8 cities across the UK

    Do you work with young people in Birmingham?
    Do they have an idea that would make a real difference in your community?
    Do they know what it will take to make a positive change for people around them?
    If so here is a fantastic opportunity for them!
    During 2011, UK Youth, together with Starbucks, will be rolling out a program called 'Youth Action' in major cities across the UK and Ireland. The program will offer young people, who have ideas of how to improve their communities, the opportunity to access up to £10,000 seed funding and volunteer time from local Starbucks partners (employees) to help realise their ambitions.
    UK Youth will be supporting the program by offering skills training and advice to young people, and both Starbucks and UK Youth hope that 'Youth Action' will inspire future community leaders to continue to make a difference.
    Young people who submit a grant application form will need to attend a Community Change training day which will be run by UK Youth and will give them the skills and knowledge to complete the second stage application form.

  • FUNDING AVAILABLE

    W A Cadbury Charitable Trust: No deadlines, apply anytime for monthly grants size of grant available: Small grants up to £2,000
    Aims and outcomes of funder: Will fund various projects such as those helping vulnerable people or providing education, training, advice, mediation and counselling

  • Funding is available from CHK Charities Limited

    You can apply anytime, there are no deadlines.
    There are no maximum amounts, however, large grants start at £25,000 and can only be applied for once a relationship has been built with the funder.
    The funder has a wide variety of programme areas detailed on the website. They also run 2 grant programmes “ oneoff ” and “conditionally renewable”.
    Only registered charities can apply for funding. There is a preference for organisations based in the West Midlands

  • Triangle Trust

    The Triangle Trust 1949 Fund is currently inviting applications from charity organisations to support projects that support carers, community arts and education, disability, older people, poverty, integration and rehabilitation.
    Grants are normally in the range of £1,000 and £10,000.
    Preference will be given to smaller charities; charities which serve a locality or region of the UK, rather than national charities; and causes which find it more difficult to raise funds from the general public.
    The next application deadline is the 12th August 2011.

  • bayc helping youth groups gain grants

    The number of bayc youth groups who have had successful applications for grants towards equipment continues to grow. The £341.36 towards the sporting equipment they need.
    To date, bayc youth groups have shared grants to the tune of £6,426.94 in this financial year.
