Young People and Music.

Black Country Networking Event

Tuesday 4th November 2008,

The Public, West Bromwich

Do you offer activities for young people? Do you run music projects or music making sessions or lessons for young people in or out of school? Do you want to find out how music making could help young people on the edge of exclusion and crime? Are you already working with young people like this? How can we offer opportunities to the talented young people who are not getting the chances they need?

Help us build a picture of music provision in the Black Country, and find out where new activities are needed.Youth organisers meet music providers, musicians meet people who could use your skills. We want to meet music and arts organizations, youth workers, teachers, policy makers, extended schools managers, musicians and other artists who work with musicians. The event starts with lunch at 12 noon, and end by 5pm.The afternoon will include

  • Active information sharing
  • Creating a youth and music map of the Black Country boroughs
  • Inspiring case studies where music has changed lives and opened doors for young people
  • Finding the gaps - geographic gaps, gaps in participants, gaps in leadership?
  • How can we fill them, how do we work together? Actions to take forward

Please forward this message to any individuals or organizations who could contribute or benefit.
