10 years on...

On 1st September 1998, in bayc's centenary year, I took on the post of Chief Executive following Jim Richardson's retirement. 10 years later, I have decided it is time for me to move on, and for bayc to bring someone in to lead on the next stage of its evolution as an organisation that has a passion for Youth Work, and a commitment to those who are involved in working with young people in the West Midlands.

I let the trustees know in June of my intention to leave at the end of the year, and have been working with them to plan for my successor. The post is now being advertised, and I am certain there will be great interest in the opportunities that being part of bayc affords to all those who get involved. It is good to be passing on the baton after being part of that succession of people leading the organisation during its 110 year history.

My family and I, having moved from Essex to Worcestershire, are settled in the Midlands and intend to stay in the area for the foreseeable future, so we shall continue to watch bayc develop with interest.
