Ben and Ibrar are members of the bayc Just Ask! project, which produced an accessible guide to involving young people as volunteers: ‘It’s not what you can’t do it’s what you can do that’s important’ Wendy is one of the first young people in West Midlands to be awarded a Platinum Youth Achievement Award for her involvement with Breathe, a group of disabled young people: ‘I effectively led the meeting last night and you know what, it felt good’ Jennifer helped to lead on a consultation event in Darlaston where young people shared their issues and concerns with the community, helping to make a difference in local services: ![]()

‘The key for young people at this event was empowerment, not just participation’
bayc – how you can help us make a difference
It costs bayc just over £1,000 a day to run our services - and we get less than 8% funding from our local authority. We have to raise the rest, through hard work and help from our loyal supporters. However, as you can appreciate, this isn’t easy.
You can support our work by:
Making a donation to help us run our services
Volunteering your help in running a fundraising event, or volunteer yourself to a bayc challenge, such as a parachute jump!
Buying an engraved tile as part of our sponsored mosaic campaign
Helping us to make new contacts and links with relatives, companies or major donors
Remembering us in your will

· Just £1 a month will help us to plan for the future needs of young people in the wider West Midlands area
· £2 a month would help us to support a young person to undertake a Youth Achievement Award
· £5 a month would help our Arts Worker to plan and run an activity workshop in a youth group.
· £7 a month would support us to offer opportunities to young people to use our Studio Barn residential centre in the Cotswolds.
